A Note from Pastor Stan
I am facinated by history - we can learn much from it!
Even more than being a student of history...I want to be a "history maker" - someone who contributes to the story of God's amazing grace in my generation.
Joshua was such a man. He was willing to step out in faith and trust God - and the people of God were involved in "Making History" by moving into the Promised Land. God promised to be with them wherever they would go! That is still true today. The lessons from the life of Joshua provide a great example of a life story intersected with God's story...making HIS-story!!
We have an opportunity to be "history makers" at Sonrise. We want to be a part of "Making History" by partnering with other believers in Haiti, Kenya, Burma and in our own country! We also want to equip kids to become a new generation of "history makers" through the ministry of Sonrise.
With God's help, we hope to build God's kingdom around the globe and right here in our community. It takes generosity, sacrifice and faithfulness - and that will bring great joy to the heart of God and to the hearts of His people. We can and will do it!
If you haven't already, you are invited to join Kathy and I in our committment to this cause. We encourage you to pray about what part God wants you and your family to have in this capital stewardship effort. Will you be strong and courageous? For the Lord promises to be with us wherever we go!
We all get to decide - it is a choice. We don't want anyone to feel manipulated. We are inviting you to be led by God.
As for me and my house, we have chosen to serve the Lord through this church called Sonrise! We invite you to join us!
